Members, Donna Samuel, Myrna Matthews, Sherlie Matthews, Ann Lindstrom, Clara Kilby, Eunice Hughes, Olivene Clavon and Beverly Arties performed for audiences in local churches and other venues for several years.
Known to you as,' background singer/songwriter, Sherlie Matthews,' I crafted our intricate and unique songs and vocal arrangements. My cousin, Myrna Matthews, a classical pianist is our accompanist. My brother-in-law, Arnib Samuel, an accomplished guitarist lends his talents to several songs. His lovely wife is my sister, Donna, whose tremendous voice enhances the vibrancy of the alto section. Clara, Beverly, Olivene and Ann provide beautiful soprano and second-soprano parts. Eunice's deep resonant voice couples with mine to round out the contralto section.
The first song, "The Circle of Love" was used as the theme song for a christian radio music station. "Thank You Jesus" is a duet by Myrna and me. Our voices are so similar that it is hard to tell who is singing which part! "I Don't Understand" and "Wiser Than Wise" are two of the most requested songs during concerts. "Touch Me Jesus," a healing song, is a favorite for meditation as well as an effective praise song.
The CD can easily be listened to in it's entirety as all of the songs are soft, melodic, and pleasantly worshipful. It also provides a soothing backdrop during hectic drive-time traffic! This collection is suitable for family listening.
